AZ A newbie question

Maybe this question has been asked before, but I haven't found anything so far. My question is will a 13b from an '89 RX7 bolt into a '79 with a 12a? I saw something about different motor mount positions. If I pull the engine from the '89 would it be a good idea to pull the front crossmember to make the engine mounting easier into the '79? Are there any good websites or books that cover some of the rotary swaps and other suspension parts for the 1st gen cars?

Thank you for your future help.

You need to use the GSL-SE front cover, then look at the bottom part from this page.

There may be some other stuff to do to use the GSL-SE front cover I think, so go and do some research.

Gen II motors mount from the intermediate housing. with an SE front cover, mounting bracket and oil pan, the engine will mount in the Gen I will little to no effort.

check the Gen I FAQs for other details.
