What's the best way to go about doing inside detailing on a rusted FB?
Rusted isn't severe but has holes in some places (where the spare wheel goes)

Also planning to fully remove the speakers as I enjoy the sound of car engines, what have you guys done with the extra space after moving the speakers from behind the seats?

I'm not putting in those midget seats though

 

Are you trying to fix rust or just clean the inside of the car? I wouldn't remove the speakers just for the point of not wanting to use them. Honestly it doesn't free up much space for anything you would want to put there unless you are removing the interior for a full cage. They aren't hurting anything being in there.

 

As for the rust, trying to clean the inside of the car.

even if it's storing stuff, wondering what people have done with that space.

the way i see it, you could either strip it and have someone prep and paint it or you can strip it and POR-15 (or similar product) it. if you want a little extra space, you can remove the storage bins and the brackets that they mount to. removing the speakers is pretty pointless unless you're racing it (as was implied above).

 

I would keep the interior as stock looking as possible, at least when it looks like that.

 

A good body shop can recommend a rust stopper...they actually work well, but are messy and difficult to work with...it's a thick black paint that pretty much stops rust from getting worse...great for underbody issues, etc. I bought some from a high end body shop, but also see it at hot rod shows I attend from time to time.
