CO Input on rear suspension issue

Suggestions on wheels/tires on a limited budget..

I have a side to side movement in the back end, and it's been suggested that I inspect the rear suspension. However, I'm not sure where to start. So I’m starting with the tires for now. The 88vert currently has 245/50 15’s on the back that are bald (some negative camber). I have four 17x7 wheels with 17/225 45, two with good tires and I’m wonder if they will fit my car, with all stock suspension? - I have fitted the wheels on the back and the lug pattern fits, but I'm not sure if they will rub on the fenders. I’d rather go with the spending 40-60 dollars for some used 17’s, which are easy to find, then go with the 15’s, opinions? Tech article suggestions?

Thanks!

What offset do the 17" wheels have? Stock is +40, so if it's relatively close to that, that rim/tire combo will work.

You can also check out the Tire/Wheel/Suspension section here for more info: https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/

could be a balance issue sounds more like alignment. But yeah, depending on the offset the 17 should be alright. If not, rolling fenders isnt to hard
