Injector query

Hi there.

Im not entirely clued up on Rex's but wondering if you can help me at all.

Ive recently aquired a set of 550cc injectors from an Rx7 which have the different part number and colour to what i was actually after, although the flow rate and spec is very similar.

What i wanted was RX-7 Turbo 550cc - purple top #195500-2020

What i received was RX-7 550cc - 2 green & 2 faded purple top #195500-2460

Now they are BOTH high impedance which is what are require and 550cc.

I have done a bit of research and it seems the first pic is from a earlier year (89 or so) and the second is from a later year (93 or so).

NOTE: I plan to place these injectors in a 4 cylinder car and i know the first picture injectors WORK so all i would like to know whether the second would?

Thank you very much.

The first one is a high impedance top-feed injector from an S5 RX7 (2nd gen). The second one is a high impedance side-feed injector from an S6+ RX7 (3rd gen). If you can find some side feed rails that will fit your engine, they'll work the same. But if you need top-feed, you're out of luck.

^ BRILLIANT!! (in one sense)

I can now see what you mean, i cannot plug this into the 4cyl as it may well fit into the cylinder head but wont fit into the fuel rail because it is not top feed.

Now i see the difference. Although they are no use to me now, lol.

Now where i can get some?

Cheers for the reply!

I know i definately need the ones in the first picture so i assume they are from the s5 rx7?

Yes, if you need high impedance, top-feed injectors with the oval plug, you need S5 TII injectors.

For S4 TII injectors, there are 2 different types: low impedance ('87-'87.5) and high impedance ('87.5-'88), and they will use a rectangular plug/clip.
