I'm new to the game

Hello fellow rotorheads, so my aunt has an 85 gsl-se which she says i can have once I'm done college. The car is in great condition. The thing is, I cant find much information about the motor. Its a 13b re-egi. i was just wondering if you guys could tell me about some of the pros and cons of the engine, and just things i should know about it.

Thanks alot everybody!

RE-EGI= rotary engine electronic gas injection

imo, the best and longest lasting rotary engine that Mazda has ever produced. a very reliable and smooth powerplant.

it has 135hp at 4000rpm and 133 lb/ft torque at 2750rpm and displaces 1308cc.

it was the first fuel injected rotary that Mazda brought to the states and was only available for two years (1984-1985) and was only available in the GSL-SE.

It's a 6 port. Earlier 13B's were 4-port as well as the 2nd and 3rd gen turbocharged engines.

Welcome to the forum, read some threads, actually a lot of threads. There is tons of great information on the forum you just have to find it.

When I first fond the forum I was amazed at all the info. Read through various thread and maybe check out some of the links posted. The first few pages of the 1st Gen section may not always be helpful to you but through searching and even just clicking on random threads you can learn a lot.
