'illum' fuse keeps blowing....
'illum' fuse keeps blowing....
Hi, I guess this is a common problem but not sure how to sort it.
I replaced the switch unit and tried the fuse . It was fine until I drove the car then it went again. It must be a short somewhere in the wiring?
The wiring from the switch seems ok I can't see any break in the insulation.
Can anyone help?

Sorry I've not been very clear:
The car is an rx7 Fc turbo II JDM import
My interior lights and rear driving lights dont work because this 'illum' fuse keeps blowing.
The switch I replaced is the headlight switch

The illum fuse powers wiring that ends up all around the dash. It's used for illumination in everything. You're going to have to isolate the each system to find the cause. Disconnect the idiot cluster and see if the fuse blows. If it still blows, disconnect the stereo, and go on and on until you've reached the point it doesn't pop.
Then again, the illum wire is a very convenient wire for people to tie into when they install gauges, so maybe it's just a simple matter of something hacked into it?

Ive got the same problem where my parking lights/running lights wont work because it blows the fuse. Ive checked the headlight switch and it seems fine. Brake lights and headlights work fine, its just the running lights that come on with the headlights.
The Red/Green wire powers the parking lights. You must have a ground along this wire.
