idling rpm on a 85 rx7?

I am still new and learning about the rotary system and well carburetors in general and this may be a pretty dumb question but I am wondering around about where this car should be idling at when its warm. It is mainly stock, the only thing I know that has been done to it is an aftermarket fuel pump with a regulator and a new exhaust. When it is warm it idles around 1200-1500 rpm right now which I would figure it would be a little high, but I don't know if that's supposed to be normal or not. This car does tend to flood a lot so I figured if the rpm was idling real high that this might be a cause for it. So if anyone happens to know the answer to this and if it is too high how can I adjust it to where it will idle lower? And if you can tell me how break it down as if you were talking to a retard lol. Just without typing all slow and everything.

the stock carb will idle around 750. what's the fuel pressure set at? high idle isn't causing ur flooding problem. now a vacuum leak might be causing high idle tho, but that would cause it to run lean. what is it actually that makes u think it's always flooding?

Well I didn't know if maybe it could be getting too much gas or something and I don't exactly know what the fuel pressure is set at. I just got this car a few days ago and started it twice. It flooded when I tried to start it once and the guy has told me that it will flood after going a few miles down the road. I am also in the process of replacing the brake line so I have not gotten it on the road yet. I hope to this weekend. But everything I read up about flooding lead to the carburetor.

i would go thru and adjust the idle mixture and then maybe the idle speed screws. then it might be a good idea to check the fuel pressure, these carbs like so little pressure its hard to find a gauge that works!

basically you want 1.5-2.5psi somewhere in there is the sweet spot
