Question Idle/throttle bogging questions

Hello, I just put a used s4 na engine in my 87'. I seem to be having 2 problems, 1- when i start it it wants to idle around 1700 rpms. 2- when I open the throttle at any stage it bogs down and wants to stall. Any ideas why it might be doing these thing?
anyways, thanks in advance for your help!

When you start the car, it should fly to 3000 RPM for 17 seconds, then fall down to around 1500 RPM and slowly drop to 750RPM as the engine warms up.

The 3K startup isn't a big deal if not working. Does the engine speed slowly drop to 750RPM as the engine warms?

As for bogging, check for vacuum leaks, adjust the TPS and check you grounds.

After the 3k start up it will drop to 1500 rpm, then after it warms up it idles around 16-1700 rpm. I will check the vacuum leaks, check grounds and adjust the TPS later this evening.

A vacuum leak was the cause of the bogging. revs freely now. As for the idle, it idles steadily at 1500 rpm after the warm up cycle. Any suggestions on that?
