Idle problem at startup.

Hi everyone. Ok im new to rotory engines. and i just bought my rx7 last week. and when i start it up it revvs to like 1500 and will sometimes drop really low and sometimes die. but if i give it a lil gas it will rise and stay up. and after warming up the rpm's fluctuate from 1k-1500. And would like to fix this problem. any and all help is greatly appreciated

Are you using the choke while starting up? is it carb or FI?

I'm guessing from the 1.5K startup that this is a 2nd gen.

First, you need to make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.

Fully warm up the car and adjust the TPS as per instructions in the FSM.

Check the cold start cam to make sure it's not sticking.

Well its an 88 rx7. so fi. and i will be looking for leaks this weekend. and i just bought a chiltons guide. but i dont like it. it covers 7 different cars. not just the 2nd gen rx7
