Question Idle Problem: BAC Deleted

Have an 87 TII with a full emissions delete along with the BAC valve. Car starts up have holding on the gas an cranking but it won't idle on its own. Is there any way to adjust the cars idle with the BAC valve deleted? Worse comes to worse I can reinstall it without the coolant lines running through it, but I'd rather not. Any way to adjust it through the TPS screw? Thanks for your help.

The BAC is an important component of the idling system as it prevents the idle from dropping below 750 rpm, plus it helps to add more air when starting the car. Whomever told you it was a good thing to remove is sorely mistaken.

The BAC valve is used by the ECU to adjust the idle speed of the engine. Of course removing it will cause idle issues. Your choice is to just jack the idle up until it's fast enough to compensate, or simply to reinstall the BAC valve. Since there is absolutely no disadvantage to having the BAC installed, you should reinstall it. The coolant lines can be left off. Actually the coolant block just unscrews from the valve.

Did you also perform the "throttle body mod"? If so, then put your cold start thermowax and cam assembly back on.
