Unless you're getting that FD engine for free, there's no point in the swap, really. There's quite a bit involved so this really does fall under the "if you have to ask, you prolly shouldn't do it" kinda thing unless you have time, patience and the mind to accept that mistakes will be made and this can't be a daily driver while you attempt the swap.

To fit an FD engine into an FC you would need to have a decent amount of cash to be able to do it even if you have the engine already and the FC. Theres a ton of work involved like making custom engine mount areas and TONS of other things. If you are a noob this definitely isn't what you want to be doing. Use the forum and read up on other people who have done the swap or are thinking about it and you'll get a better idea of what you're looking at. In my opinion it'd be easier for you to just buy a Turbo 2 and mod it if you want to make some high power numbers.

if you are committed to putting that engine in your FC, then read through this:

Hey new guy............................If that engine is good (check compression[not like regular eng] )first .if its ok then put that FD in that FC, why not? you can buy[if not make] the fd/fc conversion motor mounts , plus if you have the wire harness and computer, better yet,if not, you can run a stand alone ecu,(or convert the eng to run the FC ECU/Harness of course you will have to use the old Air Flow Meter,it will take some work but with a little imagination, and some help, there is nothing stopping you Either way remember they only tell you what you can't do,if you need some help Call or e mail any time ....................................Fred.......... ............................

It says right on the link given the mounts will cost $190. I'm thinking you're going to be a lot better off just selling that FD engine and getting a direct replacement 13B for your FC.

The 13B-REW is an FD engine. It will fit correctly if you buy/make the engine mounts and do everything right. Basically just do what I said in my last post and read up on it, there's even people who left you direct links to help you. There's pretty much work involved to put that engine in the FC but anything can be done.
