I broke this part, and i wanna know it is.

i was removing the fuel tank and i missed this part. i broke it

it sets at the top/center of the gas tank

there is a broken piece as you can see in the pic, that part is still in the hose this thing connects to. is this some sort of pressure relief valve or something? is it important?

another thing, where the hell can i get one, what is the name of this thing, a part#, something to tell the part store ppl...
