OR How long to store

How long could one store a rebuilt motor, if it was assembled with vasoline and royel purple max tuff? My plan is to rebuild S5 TII over the winter (Collecting parts this summer with OT money.) Than if current motor keeps running strong, I would convert/swap my GSL-SE the following winter. I figure the conversion would take most of winter. So the engine would be more than 12 months seamered with assembly lube.

Some people claim that they just let them sit out and they work just fine... (I wouldn't ever advise doing so.) - I'd put about two ounces of oil into each spark plug hole, rotate it by hand about five or so turns, and repeat three more times; every two weeks. Keep it lubed and definitely keep moisture out. Cover it to keep dust, insects, and rodents out and off of it. Keep it in a dry semi-cool area for storage.

the engine in my car was stored for over a year on the living room floor of the previous owner, under a blanket.

it ran when pulled though.

Just keep it oiled and sealed and it will be fine.
