i'm sick of the retardedness of the noobs on this forum.

you SPECIFICALLY quoted "LS1" and "$2100 including price of the shell/roller".

Wow, calm down. i did not say i had an LS1 in my car. I just stated i have that much into mine, and that engine happens to be an LS based engine.

Usually on sites that are not based on LS engines, everyone groups those motors into the "LS1" title. Im sure the OP was just making that generalization as well.

If someone wants to waste another $500-$1000 on an aluminum block, then go ahead. (Waits for the "50/50" weight ratio argument)

Im sorry about how much of a noob i am.

Ive only owned over half a dozen LS based cars. Im sure i have a lot to learn from you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LS_engine

All of the iron V8s in the GENIII and GENVI GM family are considered "LS"

This is my first iron block (LM7). Every other "LS" car i have owned has been a LS1, LS6, or LS2.

Im really not trying to get into an argument, i will be on my way. If the OP wants real information on the topic im sure he will find it in that link anyways.

Im sorry for any problems i have caused.

lol, someone took that noob comment to heart. enjoy your less than efficient 12mpg gas guzzler! i sold my balanced and blueprinted 383 stroked '69 camino to keep the 7 and i don't think i chose unwisely and not because the car was a rolling brick.

JDM is a way of life!

actually only if you live in japan.. my car is USDM and i'm pretty sure i would turn away someone who asked me to convert a car to RHD.

So what is wrong with JDM/USDM engines? To the OP if you want to do an LS swap then do it.
As for the carb issue brought up earlier in the thread carbs if properly tuned can get just as good fuel economy as Fuel injected engines while maintaining the same power.

keep telling yourself that, especially with a carbed V8 that you want to make any 'semblance of power with. if people could make the carbs for those engines push 25+ MPG and maintain decent power, why haven't i ever seen one? sure go with a 2 barrel, dial it in and maybe get 20MPG while falling out of an airplane.. it will need all that momentum to overcome the huge top end power loss from the 2 barrel.

Why waste your time with a 2j turbo an 8 and it's going to make more power and it will sound a hundred times better and it will cost you half the price
