A compression test will tell you if you most of what you need to know about the engine.

You also want to check into the oil consumption and especially if it puts out a lot of blue smoke on startup. That'd indicate bad oil control rings.

I think the milky stuff in the oil is a bad PCV system. I do not know how that functions in the FD. Perhaps someone can chime in with more info.

white smoke sounds like coolant seal failure, search for doing a champagne test

Sounds like normal condensation burning off. Do a compression test and move on from there. Many people misdiagnose a bad engine.

Low power till 4000 RPM means that the primary turbo isn't spooling - or someone did a non-sequential conversion. Read the FAQ thread stickied in this forum for the turbo troubleshooting thread. Most likely it will be a solenoid.

The milky stuff in the oil cap is normal condensation as well. Tends to happen every change of season. You can use the Search button to search for past threads on the topic. Don't get paranoid and assume the worst. Inform yourself and learn and spend your money wisely. Start by reading the FAQ thread where we have compiled lots of knowledge.
