Ok so i bought a short shifter that said it was for s4.
My car is a 87 and if i am correct s5 are from 88-91?
So does my rx have a s5 trans? Or was i just a derp

 

In the US S4 is 86-88, S5 is 89-91. The short shifters are mechanically the same, just the thread pitch for the **** is different.

 

I mean i guess where i went wrong was going ebay lol but they said i had an s5 trans... and my car is 87.
Their post said not compatible with s5 trans.
I cant try it out and see what i can do but the ball at the end of the shifter is bigger on the oem compared to the short shifter... it has alot of wiggle room.
