Trans mounting spots ripping out

I realize it's a t56, but surely someone else has had this issue before. The mounting spot for the trans brace is ripping out of the floor. Anyone have a fix for this? Tried to search but didn't see any threads about it. Thanks!

driver side looks like i can just drill through the floor, weld a plate in with nuts attached to it...pass side is odd, it has ears welded to the side of the trans tunnel. cant just run it though the floor to fix it.

Big problem is that's not designed to be a transmission mount, it's designed for a chassis reinforcement bar to attach to. I'm not surprised that it would tear the sheet metal.

You think if you used the bonzai reinforcement kit this same thing would happen? I was considering this kit to stabilize the rear portion of the transmission

The nutserts there are very weak and can easily by stripped out by hand. I would recommend removing the interior and carpet in the area, and welding in a piece of reinforcement steel and a new nut if you plan to use that as a trans mount.

If you still have your PPF, probably not.

This is predominately a mount point problem. The Granny's trans mounts for T5 that use a very small sandwich plate on the floor are known to tear the sheet metal as well. I had to use non-standard mounting points for my setup and did so by welding a sizable metal plate to the area to reinforce and using relatively soft (60A) poly mounts.

If you want to retain the use of that specific mount, as mentioned a few times, you need to reinforce the area.

This is only a problem wth the Hinson kit. The Samberg trans mount doesn't use that mounting location. Let's be clear. Hinson broke a lot of ground with the LS Swaps in these cars but they have since been refined and better engineering has gone into newer kits. Skip the Hinson kits and go for a Samberg or Sikky Kit.
