BC How to adjust the clutch/ Clutch drag problems?

I am the new owner of a 1987 Turbo II and I have a few questions about the clutch. I've had the car for over a week now but it has started developing this clutch issue yesterday. It seems like the clutch is dragging because when I push the clutch pedal to the floor it creeps when its in gear. Also Its getting increasingly harder to get it to engage into gear especially when shifting down or at a standstill. It sits at the gate for a long time (up to 30 sec) while the car is still driving and then clunks into gear in a sort of two stage process. Shifting up is quite a bit easier than shifting down too. Another thing, when its sitting with the clutch in all the way (as far as the pedal will go) and its in gear the revs drop down about 500 RPM from when its idling out of gear. I'm not sure how to adjust the clutch or even if this is just clutch drag, but if anyone has any insight on this that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

It sounds to me that you need to replace the clutch master cylinder. You should replace the slave cylinder as well. Also inspect the clutch soft line (goes from master to slave) and replace if excessive cracking is present.

You should try thoroughly bleeding the system first, to see if it's just air in the lines. If you can pump the clutch, and shifting somewhat improves, this is very likely the case.

replace the master and slave. it's not that pricey, and it'll only take an afternoon, and a little bit of elbow grease. Unless you bled your brakes and didn't top up the fluid in between, i can't see there being air in the line unless you have a damaged line. Mine was doing the same thing. if you don't replace it, you're going to end up being on the road and having your clutch pedal go right to the floor when the thing fails completely, and then you're screwed. I think i got both parts for just over $100 CDN
