Hood was pulling up hard at speed, get locks or not?
Hood was pulling up hard at speed, get locks or not?
On my drive back across state lines, with a crosswind and from the speed on the highway, the hood was pulling up. I pulled off and checked it, it was fit fine so a combination of the travel in the latch and the light weight did give me real concern though it seemed latched solid.
Any advice if there is an adjustment that can be made? Or investigate in hood locks/latches?

In my case, the rubber bushing/bumpers that hold the hood UP were getting old and losing their elasticity. I replaced them and my hood now latches nice and solid and doesn't "float" like it used to at higher speeds.
I'm gonna get super technical so be ready
: They're the little rubber things that are shaped like sewing thimbles but made out of black rubber. The hood sits on them when it's closed. They hold the hood in place and keep it from vibrating when it's latched closed.
My car's a third gen. How bout yours?

Is it that? I have the same issue. Around 70-80mph I get a slight lift and I can see the front left corner of the hood lift up and dance with the wind. I'm going to get a carbon hood soon so I've just been living with it but if I can fix it for 10$ in the mean time then I definitely will. I just want to verify that is the part number of the bumpers you're talking about.

i fixed my problem. ended up being a loose bolt. not the 2 that are parallel to the ground but the third one that holds the assembly the body. i tightened that and also adjusted the latch to its lowest position just to be safe.
