Average cost of a rebuild?

Hey guys, I am planning on buying an FD over the summer time and I'm wanting to know what the average cost of a rebuild is? I plan on keeping a decent bit of change in the bank in case of an emergency and would like to know how much I should set off to the side in the event of a blown engine.

It will be my first rotary car so I'm trying to prepare myself for mistakes I know I'll probably make

really depends, you could get a rebuild for as low as $1500 or as high as $5k+(new parts).

engine R+R is about $1k, anything more is you overpaying.

leave a few hundred additional on the table for belts, hoses, injector cleaning, fuel filter, etc.
