Hood compatibility. HELP PLEASE!!

So I have been looking long and hard for a new carbon fiber hood for my car. I dont want the same ones that many other people have. So I found this one, but its for an FD3S and I have an FC3S. Will it be compatible?

Not to be a jerk, but simply looking at a picture of an FD and and FC should make this obvious.

Does your GTUs not have an aluminum hood?? They're almost as light as a carbon fiber hood.

That car is damn near perfect the way it is... It is your car, though.

Hey Turtle13 -
Since you're new to the forum and to RX-7s, we should give you the benefit of the doubt that you might not be familiar with the arcane shorthand for the various generations and design iterations of the RX-7. There are detailed histories elsewhere if you care to look.

Shorthand version (for North America):
  • 1st Generation = SA/FB (1979 to 1985)
  • 2nd Generation (your car) = FC (1986 to 1991)
  • 3rd Generation = FD (1993 to 1995)

These three major generations have very different body styles. Hence the comments about complete incompatibility of hoods between the FCs and the FDs.

Within the FC range are the Series 4 (S4 = '86 - '88) and Series 5 (S5 = '89 - '91). As far as I know, the body details for these are the same and hoods are interchangeable.

Hope this helps.
