honda civic vs. rx7
i have a 86 na rx7 that this kid running his mouth at school that his honda would blow my rx7 away. he claims he has 450 horsepower under the hood i started lauphing. but i have a header short through shifter ram air kit (made it myslef) and mufflers. but his civic has a ram air mufflers and a turbo that is stock. if i would race this kid am i going to lose to this honda civic but i think im going to beat this kid so i ran my mouth to him saying that my car would wax his in a 1/4 mile so i will be racing him in two the three weeks

Who the hell cares? Tell him "Yeah, whatever." and walk away. Or if you want to be a jerk, ask him where he dyno'd that 450HP and then call them up for a copy of the dyno sheet and to see if they recognize the car. A 450HP Honda is not exactly an everyday occurrence for a dyno operator.
But to reiterate, who cares what some loudmouth highschool kid says?

Gotta remember, guys, he's 16. We've all been there and it DOES matter a lot at that point in our lives. Try to take it to the strip and leave the guns and cash at home.

But, my advice still stands to grow up quickly and be the better person.

He's boosting 8 PSI on that motor, for sure it's still stock internals and would spank an N/A RX7. But if your RX is fully gutted interior and Large street port you have more chances of winning. If not nitrous is the only way to get it up there, but it's not even worth it racing the Motha F***er!

Yep, the world's changed quite a bit...and it's "lose", not "loose"...geez, that drives me nuts every time I see it...
And yes, the fast car at school guarantees action. Girls love fast cars and they freakin' love old musclecars...at least that did in the day...12 sec Firebird on 295/50/15's, best win was a high rise, dual quad 428 SCJ Mustang that did this monstrous burnout to no avail. I hooked, he didn't, goodbye. Almost ran over a cow on the "top end" of the frontage road for my efforts on that one...man, the things that happened back then. I'm just no "Holier-than-thou" type because I did a lot of this stuff back-in-the-day but that was before idiots with their trunks and AK-47's.

Best shot for you would be to challenge him to an autocross...
(if you are not familiar with this sport, take a look at my signature line)
Pay 20 bucks each for entry fee, borrow a helmet, get it on...
Best out of how ever many runs they're doing wins..
Highly accurate timing lights, so no guessing..
Only one car at a time, no chance of accidents.
AND IT'S LEGAL!!!
Anyway, if you can drive then your car should out handle the fwd Honda. Tilt the game to your favor however possible. You've obviously already chosen your weapon, so see if he'll let you choose the arena.
Then, just be sure to choose wisely. Autocross will involve tricky corners, decreasing radius turns, slaloms,
and all kinds of other fun stuff. Maybe that would be to your advantage. Plus, you would have the support
of all of us, so you maybe have expert advise where he doesn't. Use every advantage, if this is so important that it absolutely must be done. Do it right the first time.
Like the guy who had to fight the expert knife fighter to the death.
His opponent chose the weapons,
so he said that they had to fight blind folded in a clever bid to rebalance the odds.....

Not giving play to the Civic, but they can be fast with enough work done to them. My friend had an B18 GSR swap in his EX coupe running a 60 trim T67-25G at about 12 pounds. He was pushing about 310 hp with all that (the 450 hp thing is prob far fetched) and we were running lightly modded Firebirds and transams with close victories. The car was however gutted out and couldn't keep traction to save its life and was a death-trap to ride in, but was fast! I need better specs on his car to see if hes full of it or not.
