MI hmmmmm, P-Port?

I've been reading scaliwags thread on how to build P-Port housing and i think i might give it a shot. I have a couple lathes and a mill and im pretty sure out of the thousands of tools we have, I can get it done rather easily. My question is for stationary gears, ive heard that kouki gears are hardened and can take well up to 10k rpm, is this true. I want to shoot high for a P-Port. might as well go all out. if not, what can be done to actually make power up to or around 10k? I know a lot of supporting mods will need to be done. but those will probably be asked in the near future. Thanks a lot for any help or suggestions!

Yes, true. S5 gears (only one pretentious person normally calls them Kouki ) are hardened. As are RX-8 and FD gears. FD gears have multi-window bearings from the factory.

MI longevity

So, for longevity, FD gears would be the better option?
