Stuck throttle cable or someone has played with the throttle stop on the TB.

I messed with the throttle to see what was up. Didn't have any play to it seemed normal. But I lift the throttle not even a cm. And the idle went to normal.

Cars with cruise control also have a throttle cable that could contribute to high idle.

the cable should have a little bit of slack in it.

then something isn't allowing it to rest on the stop.

An idle that high has always been a mechanical issue with the throttle body, in my experience. For example, the cold start cam could be suck. Or the throttle cable could be wrapped around the shaft, etc.

ON 92 fast idle

My 92 had a fast idle problem when I bought it, but I just took it back to the shop where I bought it and they fixed it. Should have asked what they did.
