hi guys im a newbie to the rx7 world and ill would like to know what engine i have, i got a 1988 mazda rx7 but the previous owner said it had an s5 motor swap in it how can i tell the difference and is an s5 engine better than the s4 lmk.Thank u for ur time.

Putting an S5 motor in a S4 is no easy task, post up plenty of picks and lets see whats up.

 

aigth ill post pics later on tonigth but is there any differences between the two motors.

 

There are differences,

Spark plug timing, intake manifold, number of fan blades.

However, putting an S5 into an S4 is no easy task. It requires completely rewiring the engine.

Some people put the s5 intake on an s4 or run an S5 keg, so pictures would help to determine what exactly is going on.
