Help! My brake lights wont turn off.

I've searched everywhere but can't seem to figure this one out...

My brake lights stay on and wont turn off. I checked the "stop" fuse and it's still good. The plastic thing behind the brake pedal broke and I used a nut and bolt but it still didn't work.

I've read this link already but it didn't seem to help.

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...switch-879067/

The only time it turns off is when I disconnect the headlight switch. When the headlight switch is disconnected and I depress the brake, it works.

Any ideas?

Is the switch for the brake light hydraulic or mechanical?

Could you post up a pic of your brake pedal with your Nut & Bolt mod? That might help...
