HELP, lost power to ignition and gauge cluster

I am currently finishing up putting an engine and engine harness from a front clip, when i bought the car (1993 RX7 touring) it had no engine and a butchered wiring harness. Everything worked until i went to test start it. The gauge cluster does not light up anymore and when the ignition is turned there is a click in the engine bay but thats it, the headlights still work the wipers still work and my a pillar boost gauge and AFR gauge still work, but the brake lights dont work either. Any advice would be great. Thank you

If you recall the first time you tried to start it, did you get any crank, or just the click from the starter like you're getting now?

General assumption, if everything was working before that, is that something in the ignition system is shorted. Likely one of the high-draw components. Have you checked fuses, relays, and fusable links?
