heater issues
hey everyone. new to the site and new rx7 owner. have to say im loving the car and i am wishing i would have bought one sooner!
anyways i have an 87 FC and i am having troubles with the heater staying on hot... now i was wondering if the blend door is vacuum operated or if it is all mechanically controlled through the switch on the dash? any help would be much appreciated especially due to spring and summer finally apporaching

It is electronically operated by a servo motor controlled by the logicon.
The air mix motor is a common failure. Start your fix by first resoldering the logicon. If that doesn't fix it, replace the air mix motor. If that doesn't fix it, replace the logicon. There are also testing procedures for the motor in the FSM.
