anyone know the reasons why the heat light would come on?

after i replaced the lurch in my tranny i noticed it come on.. i removed the cat so I'm not sure if thats the reason.. it comes on right away so its not like the engine is hot yet

what car is this?

I will assume you're referring to an exhaust overheat warning light. check the sensor connection itself. it could be grounding out on something.

sorry, 1995 rx7 fd.. yea i literally took the cat out and cut the sensor that went into the cat beause it was so rusted.. im assuming its that part.. it comes on and off but usually its on.. i have a mid pipe on it instead of the cat
