Angry Having alot of trouble buying an Rx7

I was originally on the search for a Nissan 240sx, 7 months go by, and no luck (its because my mom hates the color of the ones I find). So I decided to find the next best thing. Which obviously is an Rx7.

Well, I found one on craigslist and I immediately told my mama, and e-mailed the owner around last Friday(Jan 9). I waited a day, no response. Waited another day, and no response. Soo, I e-mailed him/her again demanding contact info. I wait a day, than another; no response. So I e-mailed again for contact info. And I still have not got a response!

I'm in a real bad spot here. All I have is the e-mail address from craigslist.

Here is a link to what I'm talking about. http://tulsa.craigslist.org/cto/973208791.html

I need help!
P.S.:Please don't ruin my find like what 2 people on NICO did on my 240sx hunt!!

And Thanks For all the help! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!

Tell your mother to sod off because it's your money and your car, so she has no business telling you what to buy.

And I'm glad that we're your illustrious 2nd choice. Feels great...

Don't bother trying, becasue the guy is obviously not motivated to sell. He doesn't want your money so move on.

Get a 7 soon you will realize the 240 would have been a better 2nd choice and the 7 should have been your first :P

That and I totally agree with Aaroncakes its your money so its your car get what you want and don't let your mom tell you otherwise.

I GOT THE INFO!!! I'm going to check it out next Saturday. Yeah, my mom doesn't understand that she isn't going to be driving my car, so its strange.

The reason I looked for a 240 first is because I wanted to prove that a KA-T engine can be the same, if not better than an SR20. And do a bunch of comparison tests with an SR to prove that. An Rx7 was my second choice because it did not have the greatest gas mileage, and I was an idiot to listen to my friend that said, "at the end of every month you will need to change the seals and carry a full bottle of oil with you at all times." When I found this site, he still doesn't believe me. Man!! Word Wall My bad

RX7 should be your first choice. The seals only need to be replaced every 100 000-150 000km. Your oil should be replaced every 3000km for a healthy engine. They can be the most reliable engines if taken care of.

I was a big Nissan fan and without a complete over hall on a KA-T setup built for boost you will still be slower then a SR20DET. Just being honest since I have help build both. If you were to get a 240 the SR is the way to go considering you can do the same upgrades that you did for the KA-T setup but get more power out of it. Glad your looking at a RX7 though, I will be getting one after I sell my streetbike and put a new engine in my civic.

93+up RX7 first aswell, see if the owner has maintence records. 240 would be nice if you find a decent one.

Whatever you do, look at a few Rx7's before deciding "thats the one!!" unless it really is just too good to pass up. And LOOK IT OVER GOOD, INSIDE AND OUT. Last thing you want is to rush into getting a car and be happy about it, then it decides to take a dump on you and your smile turns to a frown with tears running down your face because your stuck with a bad car and no money.

I looked at a total of 8 in my area. Gave up, started looking for a nissan, walked into a used car lot and bam, underneath the tree covered in all types of crap I found my Fc. Though it was an automatic the body was in decent shape, interior a 10/10.

just wondering, what's your price range? are you basing this on all the money you have? or on how much you're willing to spend and have a lump of cash in reserve?

if you find a member selling his 7 on the forum, read all his threads to check up on info for the car, for parts he's changed or bought for it. it helps get a little confidence in the vehicle or find fradulent selling practices.

I talked to the owner like 6 hours ago. he said that the clutch line, or the rubber flex hose(one of those) is cracked and leaks clutch fluid, which leaves the clutch on the floor. I was wondering, if this a problem that can be fixed in a day? I probably can get these at autozone. Also, can the flex hose be changed to a solid steel braided hose?

My price range is 3k. I want this one because I will have money left over to fix anything wrong with it, and put some aftermarket things on it.

So, i will have to drain the clutch fluid, and replace the OEM clutch line with a stainless braided one? I was wondering how long it will take to do it, because I can order the clutch line from Corksport if it can be done in less than an hour.

UPDATE: I will have the car this week, I should my ma this thread and she was all like, "these people can help you". So Thanks for all the help everybody!
