I recently acquired an '82 RX-7 with a street-ported 13B engine, Cartech turbo, and Haltech 6A fuel/ignition control. I'm the second owner, the original owner recently passed and this car was the love of his life. It hasn't been started for a couple of years. I diagnosed the first glitch to be a bad solenoid and replaced the starter/solenoid assembly. Now the engine turns over, but I only get spark when I initially cycle the key on. I get a hot spark then and only then. When I crank the engine, the spark disappears. I'm also not getting a signal from the ignition to the fuel pump. The pump works fine when I hot wire it, but not when the key is on.

Have no idea where to start further diagnostics on the Haltech 6A unit for fear of frying a transistor or...? Can't seem to find any literature/info on the 6A. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just wanted to thank both Faberio and Indio84 for taking the time to answer my question on where to start with diagnosis of my Haltech 6A. I'd been to the Haltech site and hadn't been able to negiotiate it well enough to find the info I need, but both you guys provided links to the 6A manual, which I think will be a great starting point for me. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to help...Paul
