Gurus I need help - DFW, TX

First off it's a '88 gtu and it was running ok. Now it idles ok but when I hit abou 1800 rpm it falls on it's face and smells rich. I have replaced the coils and it worked better but fell on it's face at 4 k. Now today it went back to 1800 and running rich as he££. I don't know much about cars and especially rotary setups. So I'm looking to the rotary gods (y'all) for some guidance and wisdom. Thanks

Big vacuum leak between the AFM and throttle body would be the first thing I'd check for.
