GSL-SE/Non-SE Brakes Question
I have a 79 FB, that was a pro7 car in it's better years.
I am trying to get this things back into racing, but I am missing a rear brake caliper (driver side).
Anyways, I'm trying to figure out if the disc brakes are from a GSL-SE or Non-SE model.
It has lug nuts (I think that is a way to tell if its SE or not??)
??? TIA!

Well, it's possible to stud a stock SA rear end, just by threading studs from an air-cooled VW. An easy way to tell would be to look at the rear rotors. If they're vented, then you've likely got a GSL-SE rear. There are other differences, but that's easiest.

What wheels does the car have on it? Bolt pattern is different between the GSL and SE. The SA didn't come with disc brakes, so the entire rear end has been changed at some point. If it's an SE rear then then the wheels won't interchange between the front and rear or the fronts were changed too.
