greddy turbo timer problem , HELP !

NL greddy turbo timer problem , HELP !

ok today i turned my 93 rx7 off she never counted down on her timer, she just shut rite off.
os i thougth maby that the timer wasnt on but then i started her again and tryed it still the same , so thougth maby there might be a wire burned off in side the timer but there wasnt ,
any other things that might b wrong need help asap?

and what is the point of having a timer anyway , y is it needed?

ok was out the other night and knowice when i locked my doors the timer shut off?? really confused
??????

having never owned one, i can't help you with diagnostics on the unit itself. i defer to those that have dealt with them before. you may want to state which kind you have though (HKS, GReddy, etc.) it may get you a better response, it may not.

as for what they do ... the concept behind it is to prevent/minimize coking (the heating and subsequent congealing/crystalizing of oil in the turbo's oil passages) that occurs when the engine is shut down and the oil stops circulating. obviously the turbo will remain VERY hot. you want the engine to run for an amount of time to keep the oil circulating and bring the temperature down.

i never bothered with the things because you can get the same effect by just letting the engine run for 30 to 60 seconds after driving before switching it off. when i drove my car really hard, i'd even give it 2 minutes at times.
