good books or other sources of info?

I'm a 21 year old student currently finishing up my last year of college, so ownership of an rx7 is approaching but still a ways off. (I'm not planning on it being my first car). In the meantime all I can do is read whatever I can find in the hope that when I do get a 7 I can have a nice solid running car and not spend the first year of ownership fumbling around trying to get it to start. So any book recommendations on fixing, building or modding rx7s would be appreciated. I'm already aware of foxed.ca and all it's goodies as well as fc3s pro.
I also have ambitions to do road racing so resources on race prepping rx7s, studying suspension and chassis design, or even driving technique would be good to have.

OK, read this book: "Buy a Running Car", by Evil Aviator, The End.

I recommend that you start with SCCA Solo Autocross events because they are the cheapest and easiest to attend, and they are a great way to work on your driving skills and meet other RX-7 drivers who can give you tips. You can even race your non-RX-7 daily driver if you wish. The SCCA website has the rules, event locations, driving schools, and other information that you will need. Research this before you buy anything. Also, if you plan to race in higher-level events then I recommend that you buy a car without a sunroof. You can even search the race car classified ads and probably find a good race car for 1/2 to 1/3 what it would cost to build it, not to mention the time and frustration saved.

There is a really good Mazda race shop near your location. Ignore the Miatas on the website, as they have raced winning RX-7s for decades.

Thanks for the replies and the links.

I would absolutely like to find a running car, I just suspect, given it rx7's are growing uncommon, FC's in particular, that I may not have the luxury of being terribly picky. And when I google "cost of owning an FC" I find that even when people buy "running" cars they can still end up being a whole mess of broken.

There is a 100% chance that I will be doing a lot of autocross.

I can recommend Street Rotary by Mark Warner as well. I just got it the other day and read it cover to cover.
