The Gilmer drive replaces the stock pulleys with a toothed belt. Generally they are underdrive as well.

The advantage is that the toothed belt offers more gripping force and won't slip at high RPMs. Plus it looks like of cool.

The disadvantage in my mind, and why I question why anyone would ever run one except on the track, is that they are monstrously loud. It sounds like there is a massive roots blower under the hood anytime the car is running.

I have not seen any Gilmer kits that have pulleys for power steering and A/C. No reason you couldn't machine your own pulleys though, but it seems like a huge waste of money. A Gilmer drive on most street cars seems like a huge waste of money.

Pic!

Here is a Pic of my "mock up" as it sits right now.
I am in the process of putting the car back to stock TB and such.
It shows the Gilmer drive on the engine.
