Hi People,

I recently got a 1996 FD the car is completely stock except an after market exhaust but still has pre-cat.

I am not sure if its normal for the car to be making a flat buzzer around the 1900-2000 rpm.(Noise coming from left hand side of car, i have a RHD rx7). I was reading some where that it was one of the actuator working around that rpm range for the turbos. if so is that sound normal?

or is it something else thats making that noise all together.

after 2000 rpm the noise goes away.

any clues on what is happening around that rpm range?
so as to help me diagnosing this problem.

Got me a Boost Gauge.(thank God)
Now got more info about the funny sound.
As soon as i get +ve intake manifold pressure(boost) at 2000 rpm thats when i hear the funny buzzing sound.

any idea as to if its normal? or am i just paranoid?

 

Maybe record a video of it happening?

 

Finally got around to sorting that buzzing sound. My exhaust was rattling at a certain resonance. Easy fix the Bracket was loose.

All if fixed and no more Buzzing Sound.
