FL Fuel System help on an 88 Vert

My car runs strong for about 5 sec. then shuts down like someone flipped a switch. It doesn't matter if it's at idle or when I'm working the throttle. It responds well for about 5 sec then dies. It sat for a year & the fuel was low. I filled the tank with fresh gas & now I suspect the fuel filter & pump need to be changed. How difficult is it & where are they located

Check the MAF door at the intake, per the factory manual.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank, the filter is on the driver's side firewall.
