Fuel pump problem

I have an 88 t2 with a bad fuel pump, problem is that I need a whole new assembly. Will an 89 fuel pump swap over?

The pump itself is swappable but the whole hanger and pump/level sender assembly between an S4 and an S5 are different.
Besides that the S4 tank is 16 gallon and the S5 is 20..so take that into consideration.
