Fuel Line - DIY replacement?

Hello,

I've just purchased a 1988 GXL, and have a few items to deal with before I can get her safety checked and on the road. One item is a rusted (but not yet leaking) fuel line. I've been quoted $250 (CDN) for the repair, but I'm a cheap guy, so if I can save a few bucks and do it myself, I just might.

I'm decent with wrenches and sockets, but not a registered mechanic by any means. Would you all recommend that I leave the fuel line replacement to the experts, or is it something that can be handled by a weekend warrior?

Thanks in advance for your input.

-Greg.

You can probably handle it. Buy a length of steel fuel line at the parts store and go to town. A bending spring like you would use to plumb a set of household taps will help you make the curves.
