CO Fuel Delivery Issue

Hi all, new to the forum and new to the world of Rotary Power. Anyway I recently bought an 82 RX7 GSL with a 12a motor. It has been set up to track with a fuel cell, roll cage 5 point harness etc. I have tracked the car twice and at the end of both days the car died on track in the last session. The first day I chalked it up to a fuel pickup issue and just figured i needed to keep more fuel in the cell, but the second day it was very full. I changed the fuel filter (which did not look bad). That didn't seem to fix it. So where would you all recommend I go next?

Thanks for your help!

I would go to whomever built the race car. Once you deviate from stock, you open a whole new can of worms and the normal answers found on a website like this aren't directly applicable. I'd normally think it might be the carburetor but why would it wait until the end of the session to show up as a problem?

What's on top of this 12A? Who made the fuel pump and what is its rating? Is there a FPR being used? If this is a fuel cell, what's the height of mounting in the back?

There are quite a few racers on the website and they're going to need those answers to even begin trying to guess what might be going on with your set-up.

Are you getting fuel to the carb?
Can you tell if the fuel pump is still running when this happens?
Any chance that the cell is building up vacuum?

Carb info: www.sterlingmetalworks.com

Good luck...

does your fuel cell have breather if not the tank can vapor lock becase the 7to 12lbs pump can not pull the fuel from the tank with the vacume in the tank
