This is what I did for my S4 control arms:

With some sort of saw capable of cutting metal. I used an angle grinder with a new cutoff wheel and carefully "cut the bottom" off of the bushing. I did this by cutting, carefully, axially close to the control arm rod. This cuts through all three layers of the bushing, the inner rubber, middle metal, and outer rubber. With this done I was able to use a sturdy screw driver and hammer to loosen it.

It sucks, takes time, and is a PITA. Since I went with a hard plastic replacement for the bushings I also ground down the wedges on the control arm to prevent binding. This also made installing the new bushings much easier. Good luck.

You should realize that not everyone has a car like yours so please state your car SERIES and it will help you get answers that you require, otherwise people are just guessing or giving you answers not related to your car series at all.
That is why we have a nice big sticky at the top of this section.
It helps you.
