Fixing my the headrest speakers
I just bought my Vert a few days ago. When I bought it, the headrest speakers didn't work. This afternoon I got down to pulling the amp and control panel apart to diagnose the problem.
The first thing I did was check for resistance at the connection under the seat. Found that all the wiring in the seat was good.
Next I removed the amp, and pulled up some circuit diagrams so I could check the harness at the amp as well as the harness for the controls.
In my case, when you press the power button, you can hear the speakers click on. This gave me the idea that the amp must be supplying power. So I chose to tackle the controller first. Upon testing the controller I found that the volume buttons didn't seem to be working at all.
I took apart the controller removed the circuit boards, and began resistance testing the volume buttons, I found that the volume controls were very intermittent. So I removed the rubber pads and cleaned the contacts on the board as well as the contacts on the pad. Put that pads back on and tried again, this time they seemed to be working properly.
Plugged the amp and controller back in, cranked the volume and bingo! Got the speakers working. So, in summery, if your headrest speakers seem to turn on but don't play an audio signal then you may want to try checking your volume controls.
Hope this helps
