first import ever and second car.
I have always liked the theory of a rotary engine, and i have always wanted a 5spd RWD. so i bought me a 1991 rx7 na with oly 86,000miles on it. But it dose have an idle issue and it needs to pass emissions before i can go hit the freeway ligaly. I was riding dirty the day a bought it because i lived 40 miles from where i live. So i will need help, because i am not used to OBD1. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

With no name and nothing but car talk, this thread didn't really fit in the Introduce Yourself board, so I've moved it here to the New Member Tech board where you can get some help.

I didnt know I was actually supposed to go into detail with names and stuff. But the cra is pretty clean except for the faded paint, but i need to get to idle right and some of the TPS threads are hard to understand because they dont go into detail. Also, any idea how much oil the 13b takes, I want to do an oil change and im not sure if a 5 qurt jug is going to be enough.

5 art my man.
Google rx7 tps, or Google rx7 fsm.
There will be something on what your looking for.
S5 is what you have, got 2 tps.
There's a screw on one of the throttle links that can be adjusted if thats whats causing the idle issues.
Also check your timing

Thanks. I will keep searching so i dont repost things that are already there.
Also I am wondering if the TPS would be bad if at start up, regardless of how many times the engine has been turned on, the engine idles steady. what I did notice now because I didnt know where it is suppoed to be idling at, it idles high like 1500 to 2000 rpm high. then I hit the throttle and then the idle is up and down and up and down about 500rpm between 1500 to 2000. any ideas. im going to try to check the tps anyway, but im not realy sure which wires im supposed to be probing. Please help me out.

The car will start up with a High Rpm,Then it should go down to 750-800(plus or minus 10%).Start the car in gear but Foot on clutch.
5 Quarts is plenty. If you Totally drain the system,That includes draining the cooler(which about 90% of people and shops do not do) then you will about another Quart and a half.
Look up posts by SATCH and he should have some tips on TPS adjustment.
SO,Cliff notes:..Search forums,Keywords TPS adjustment.Member: Satch.
