First gen s2 parts interchangeable
Hey I'm from Vancouver canada n parts are hard to come by up here I was thinking of picking up a 84 gsl it has 90 psi at both rotors and pulses thing is it won't hold idle needs a new fuel pump and some break calipers I read a lot of the FAQ threads and did lots of research but to no avail. So does anyone know if the second gen and first gens break calipers are interchange able I would rather not order parts online and what fuel pump replacement would I need to get. Also anything I should look out for or any other problems with the first gen.

welcome to the board.
on a GSL? no. you need to get the Gen I brakes for replacement. that said, i was reading a thread earlier today that said RockAuto Parts Catalog had caliper rebuild parts on some sort of clearance sale, so maybe you want to check that out as well.
for a fuel pump, you have many options out there. it depends on what you're looking for. while upgrading is certainly not mandatory, it doesn't hurt and i'm not sure there's much difference price-wise in many cases (though upgrades may additionally require a regulator). just Google and see what suits you.

I don't always like buying parts online, but diabolical1 is right, RockAuto is a great company to work with and their prices are usually the best.
I know my 4 piston caliper 2nd gen brakes are very different than your first gen. If you are upgrading the fuel pump, you might think about putting a cut off switch in line with it for more control over the fuel delivery

If it runs but won't idle I don't think a fuel pump is the issue. If in fact it is, the carter pump listed on rockauto.com is a good replacement. Vacuum leak and/or carb rebuild. It would be wise to replace all fuel lines, which would require dropping the tank, not so big a job. Stay with stock brakes. They work just fine. And rockauto.com is very good.
