I have an '88 'vert. Got a few issues at the moment, wondering if anyone could help or knew the answers.

1. LCD clock comes on randomly.
2. Dash lights fade to dark, come back randomly.

Does anyone know what might be causing these issues, or how to fix them?

 

It could be a pending alternator problem.
Or bad solder joint on the Idiot light cluster that causes the clock to flash.

 

I wonder if you're right about the alternator, because I've been meaning to replace it for another reason. Thanks for the advice
