few questions about emissions removal

following rotaryressurections guide. on an 88 GXL

cold start valve : keep or toss? (couldn't find a block plate so i'll fab one myself if needed)

thermowax : keep or toss? i know there is some debate here.

vac spider is going : i got all my hoses labeled so far, just wondering if anyone has some advice or hints for rerouting the remaining vac hoses?

TB mod : i've read that it's not really worth it on an N/A, so i'll probably leave it alone.

BAC is staying

OMP is staying (just rebuilt the lines/pump, and cleaned the injectors)

EGR is gone

ACV is gone

anything else i might have missed, or just general pointers that some of you more experienced owners can give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks for the help.

What is a "cold start valve"?

Are you referring to the ASV? If you have power steering, keep it. Otherwise, ditch it. Note that this is not an emissions component.

If you are referring to the thermowax and cold start cam assembly, keep. This is not an emissions component and I have no idea why it is listed in an emissions removal guide.

You will have so few hoses that you can just bundle them up and use a cable clamp bolted to one of the spare bosses on the top of the engine.

Yep, not really necessary. But removing that stuff does clean up the appearance of the throttle body.

BAC is staying
Excellent.

What are you planning to do with the PCV system?

ok did some searching, and that is the sub-zero assist. will be blocking that off too.

one last question, the solenoid that goes to the fuel regulator. does that get tossed out with the rest of them or do i need to keep it hooked up? if i do toss the solenoid then do i just run the vacuum line from the regulator to the nipple under the BAC on the Dynamic Chamber?

That's the sub zero start assist valve. Block it off. Mazda issued a TSB years ago that the system should be removed.

I'd recommend keeping the stock purge system and charcoal canister.

Keep this solenoid, as it greatly assists in hot starting.

was thinking of running a catch can plumbed in line with the purge valve. had a lot of oil built up in the throttle body and intake to clean out. so it would go...

OIL FILER NECK
->PURGE VALVE
->CATCH CAN
-> VACUUM NIPPLE ON DYNAMIC CHAMBER

that sound about right?

ok i'll just zip tie it out of the way somewhere.

Thanks for all your help.advice Aaron, i really appreciate it.
