A few questions
I am thinking about getting an 2gen RX7 soon, but have a few questions. I am contemplating on whether to get the S4 or S5. I read up on the differences, and it seems the S4 isn't as much trouble (Electric OMP and those auto seatbelts) but I'd like to know what are these exterior differences people talk about? I can't seem to find a side-by-side picture of the difference.
Another question is about oil. I heard the problems synthetic might do to the engine, but this is only if the OMP sprays it into the housing, right? Would there be any ill effects if you run premix, with a blocked off OMP, and use synthetic?
Thanks

External differences between S4 & S5 cars includes: front and rear bumpers, painted trim (S5) vs. black trim (S4), tail lights, mirrors & wheels. Browse through member's albums and compare these areas. Mine won't be the best example if you take a look at it, since my S4 has painted trim and S5 tail lights. But other people will have cars that are still completely stock.
As far as oil, take a look at the 2nd gen FAQ. There is nothing wrong with using synthetic (other than price) in a rotary, as long as it is high quality. Those made in the 1980s were not in this category, which is why Mazda didn't suggest using them.
