few new guy questions

hey guys

havent introduced myself yet but i may be picking up a 7 as a partial trade for my evo VIII

currently in niagara falls, canada
own an evo 8 right now, before that i was piloting a gtr r32 and a 180sx alon with several 240sx's.

just had a few questions...

is there anything specific to have an eye for when im checking out the 7?
what is this omp/premix mod im hearing about?

is rotary dynamics a decent shop? motor has been rebuilt there.
ive never been beihnd the wheel of a rotary and thus have little knowledge on them or ever looked into rotary building.

looking forward to chatting with some of you.

Hello,

The OMP mod / premix is for running with 2 Stroke oil (or other one), for prevent any issue with the stock OMP system (premix).

Some threads on the board, you just have to search like I did

(Some guys are for premix, some absolutely not... not easy )

Some people run two-stroke and retain the OMP for extra lubrication, others remove the OMP and only run the two stroke.

There are pros and cons of running pre-mix, read all about it before you make a choice.

Your best bet is to search for "premix" and then read the mountains of topics that will come up. It's often discussed, often causes arguments, is fraught with misinformation and in general a big mess. Then you can make a decision as to what you want to do.

I don't ever make a recommendation to or against any specific shop. People tend to tell me all kinds of stories about all the local shops, so I hear good and bad stories from all shops. Search the Canadian Forum for "rotary dynamics" for info. But be warned that all new shops generate a lot of buzz and it's a great fad to support the "shop de jour" until something bad happens there and then suddenly that shop sucks for everyone for all time.
