FD3S Ride quality??

What is the ride quality normally like on a stock FD3? The RHD FD3S Efini that we just got from looking around underneath appears to be pretty stock suspension wise, however it does ride like a lumber-wagon... all of the suspension components are black, and appear stock, but I assume it is stiffer than stock, being that I can bearly bouce the car by pushing down on the fenders etc, really quite stiff, and I'm over 275Lbs.....

Just wanted to see how the average stock 3rd gen rides?

Matthew

It rides good and smooth. Not floaty like a Cadillac but not stiff as a rock either.

I think it's a quick responsive car. Feels nearly perfect stock and with upgrade you will weep.

I've ride in couple ones most of them are very stiff. Then again why would you have a soft a** suspension if you own a FD

ive got adjustable coilovers and is set to almost max stiffness and rides great!!! when i push down on the rear or front, it feels solid also, but then again thats how i like my car to feel, solid and not to crazy stiff but enough to tolerate for daily use...

A stock FD with stock 16 inch wheels should feel smooth and comfortable. Definitely not a luxury ride but far from a lumber wagon.

Yeah on a smooth track. The stock suspension is firm but compliant if it is anything else things are worn out.

Ride isn't bad at all stock. But I'd deal with a bumpy ride any day for the performance from an aftermarket suspension.

The stock ride quality is pretty good..I guess it really depend's on how many mile's are on your car and the condition of the bushing's too!

It is not gonna be a plush ride because it still is a Mazda..But pretty good compared to most sport car's out today

I've found that a stock FD3S rides a lot like a stock E39 BMW M5, but with half the weight you will def see better handling

a stock FD rides rough especially if its one of the R1 models. I suggest u get some tokico 5 point adjustable shocks, with these u can adjust the stiffness easily

I've driven two FD's and both handled/rode amazing. The balance between ride quality and handling is perfect. I suspect the product of a light car and lots of suspension tuning from the factory.
